The Temples of ancient Greece were the biggest and most beautiful at that time. They were made up of three architectural systems. Each system had their own distinctive proportions and detailing. They are: Doric (Which is plain and sturdy. Also it was used on the mainland of Greece and the colonies in southern Italy and Sicily.), Ionic (Which is thinner and more elegant that Doric. This style was found in eastern Greece and the islands.), and Corinthian (Which is style is not very often used in the Greek world, but often seen on Roman temples.) The Greeks influenced all architectural movements through the world. Many of the architectural masterpieces in the world were influenced by the Greek architecture. The homes were made with mud bricks.

Pheidias (or Phidias) approximately lived between 490 BC - 430 BC. He was Athenian sculptor and the "director" of the construction for Parthenon.
Place: The Parthenon
The Parthenon is located in Athens, Greece. It was built in honor of Athena. Not much is known of this temple but it was constructed between 447-432 BCE. Its main function was to cover/ shelter a statue of Athena. The statue was made by Pheidias out of gold and ivory.
